58" one piece recurve, walnut dymondwood riser, Walnut paralells and bamboo lams from kennym. Hope this one comes out as good as my first one!

Peckerwood

Good luck on #2 . Nothing like the birth of a new bow . Make sure to post pictures.

it went well, pumped up firehose slowly to 65lbs with bike pump checking lams several times,no problems so it went into oven, checked pressure twice in the first 45 minutes...I have a nice 15amp timer for the oven so I called it a day, got up at 0615 and bow was cooked but oven/form was still 102 degrees, pressure was 62.5 psi so I shut the lid I will work on it later today and tonite. The walnut looked real sweet when the smooth on glue hit it. next time I will put an apple pie in with it, that way I can have a treat while waiting to see whats under all that cling wrap, tape and excess glue..

Sounds good Robert cant wait to see this one.

I like the apple pie idea.  Just make sure you get the right ingrediants in the right project.

looks like this one is gonna come in arround 45 lbs, had to narrow limbs to 1 1/2 inches due to a splinter in the glass. I think it will be a nice one when finished, decided to cut the riser in a more streamlined shape than the last one..will post pics of this one and the cocobolo one from the same form when completed. Next one may be red elm tapers with dyed curley maple parallels from KennyM, cocobolo dymondwood riser.

had a few spare hours, shaped riser and tips enough to string and shoot a few arrows. pic is of first bow and the one I'm working on from the same form (rough sanded and un finished). It shot nicely and will see some action on the 3-D ranges soon.

in the old days religion had it's use to keep nations together. Today, religion tears nations apart.

Nick, I've seen your bows you have skills and some cool bows, I really like the Holmegaard bow. Shawn, Helen's parents are visting from California so our next shoot will be at Longhammock next Sunday. Gonna try to glue #3 up next Thursday night. The one I'm working has really good cast and I think it may be closer to 50lbs(my target weight) than I thought.

Robertfishes

did some more sanding on the riser and shaping on the tips weds night, shot 5 coats of spar urethane on it weds and thursday, I just put a velcro rest on it. I will be shooting this one Sunday at the LongHammock 3-D shoot. I think it came out 48lbs @ 28"(I don't have a bow scale), this bow has really good cast, I think I'll reshape the limbs on the other bow I built to closly match this one...

Thanks,I hope to glue up another one Monday night. I still need to work on my fine sanding, tip building/shaping skills, But overall I'm satisfied with my efforts. I had read alot of past bow building posts before I got started and was really inspired by the "build alongs" like the ones by Hera. Helen took this pic of me today, looks like I need to do some sit ups and run some laps...
