I've cut and split some black walnut into staves and wanted some design help, 50# @ 29" draw. any ideas?

68" long, 2" at the fades and out until the last 6" and taper to 1/2" tips(for mow, narrow to 3/8" later).

I might narrow earlier, but probably 2" wide for half the limb length at least would be a good idea...
42% of statistics are made up, and the other 62% are inaccurate.

i might narrow after 1/3 limb (from the fadeout). at my last black locust i did so, and i found that it was easier to tiller then.
in past even the future was better, so what do you want?

haven't used walnut yet, but I like hermann's idea better, even if only for looks. But starting the taper 6" away from the nocks asks for some very eliptical tiller... or results in massive handshock.

in the old days religion had it's use to keep nations together. Today, religion tears nations apart.
