I was given a recurve. No markings for weight or maker save a 'S' stamped into the left side of the riser. My guess; it is a mid/late 60's style bow...

The back-glass had popped loose from the edge and was splintering off.

The glass has been completely removed now and I am thinking of getting a .010 glass to put on the back .... i am all ears for thoughts and suggestions on how to finish this project.

0.1" sounds pretty thick to me. What weight are you shooting for? Whats the thickness right below the fades?

Any pictures?  I've seen where the old fiber backings could be popped off, but not the glass.  That'd be interesting.

What thickness glass did it have originally?

Have pics shortly, was really thin..all the black came off but, you can still see the mesh pattern. The back is very smooth now.

Tommy, it was .01  I had to double check it myself - decimal points are too small.  I'm curious to hear what is said on this topic myself.

Do have enough to get an average of the thickness? Try measuring with a good digital calipers or thickness gauge. I it might be 1/10,000 but probably .002 or .003.

If the glass is that thin, I misread it as .1, I dont know where you can get it. Binghams lists E glass starting at .03".
The thing to do is take measurements of the lenghth, width, and thickness of the bow below the fade. Decide what poundage your looking for and that will decide the glass thickness needed. You may need to add another lamination if needed. Let us know, sounds like a good learning experience!
