I've only been making bows for a month, I bought a small farm, and needed to clear some trees for a house, I decided to make a bow, needless to say I didn't stop a one, I've made about 20, this month alone. Most of them broke, but it didn't really matter as I made them for the experience. I have a few more bows tied to a bed frame to stop them from warping, and am working on 2 more staves.

I really got the bug bad. Here are some of the bows that, haven't broken, my workman ship is a bit shoddy but I will improve on the finished product once I can make a more sound bow.
Thanks for the help so far.

Good for you, dobermann, and thanks for sharing.  Do you use Bamboo in your bows?

Here's a pic of one of  my recent bow drawn, it's still on the long tiller string but now going on to short tiller, I made it from prunus, wood, I'm no expert in good woods but so far this seems a very good white wood.
Any of you ever try prunus ?
This spices is native to Taiwan but I've read that it's become an invasive species in the US, so there should be plenty of it about.

Hi Christopher. Thanks for the interest.
No I don't, I'm still trying to master a decent wood bow.
I might give it a try in future. I have made a couple of bamboo bows, they shoot all right, and easy to make, but I don't really like them.

Cheers Craig

Thanks guys, I'm really enjoying the bow making.
Bjorn, I don't know of any bow hunting here, except for the Native Taiwanese, still practicing traditions.
I've been asking around and can't find anyone that knows.
I have a small farm, that I can hunt ground bird on, and there are said to be wild bore in the aria, I've never seen any. The farm is far from my home, I only get a chance to go, once or twice a month.
