Hi all bow makers. I've just split a big mulberry log, that has been freshly felled, I've covered the ends in glue, but I'm not sure if I have to cover all the exposed wood with glue.
Should I coat the exposed wood that will be the belly part as well as the ends with glue ? The log is split in 1/2 and still has it's bark.
Thanks in advance.

You do not need to cover the belly with sealer.  Just seal the ends (and if you take the bark off I usually seal the back too).  Then the stave will dry out slowly via that belly wood.

Good luck.
