I have read on here that water dilluted wood glue works well for sealing ends and backs of staves. It was alot cheaper than shellac so I thought I'd give it a try. Any advice on how much to dillute it. Paul<><
Always strive to do the right thing. Don't beat yourself down when you mess up. Ask for forgivness and keep on keeping on.

I use TiteBond II but I don't dilute it. Works great.

A $7 can of shellac will seal a whole buncha staves.  You can thin it with denatured alcohol a few times too.  What wood glue cost you?  $3-5 a bottle?
