The Youtube video I saw made it look a bit thinner after mixing. It looks like it would be easier to apply, better penetration and less waste.

Anybody have any luck with Bowgrip 100? Just looking for options.

The only failure I had, was with Bowgrip.  It's too thin in my opinion.  Doesn't stay where you put it!
I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!

Agreed. Smooth on is better in my opinion, thicker, cleaner..i have never had a failure with smooth on.

Leave the bowgrip to those who do not know better.  I am trying G2 from Lee Valley on the suggestion of Jason Jelinek's article in TBM.  Smooth on is the industry standard for a reason.

Thanks Diamondback59. Do you have source for URAC 185?

soopernate

If it is a wood to wood or wood to bamboo then urac is certainly the way to go...cheaper but awesome glue.  If you are using glass stay away from it and stick with smoothon

Smooth-On is the BEST in my opinion. You need a heat box or some other type of heating device. I have never had a failure with Smooth-On. I have tried Bowgrip and the bow exploded. Went by the directions to. If Jerry Hill and Craig Ekin uses it and recomends it, its got to be good.

Thanks,

Smooth On for me and nothing else.  The only other epoxy I have tried is Versamide and had problems.  Guess its good stuff cause thats what Black Widow uses but I did not like it.  I will stick with the tried and true Smooth On.  Over 700 bows and if there has been problems its Bob, not the glue.
Now then, get your weapons ~ your quiver and bow ~ and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27.3

700? Wow! Good advice. Thanks Bob. I checked out your web page. Awesome bows.

I use bow grip all the time. I make 3-4 boo backed hickory reflex-deflex and have never had a failure.
1. u must mix it EXACTLY. i use two big siringes
2. it must cure at a temp of NO LESS than 70deg.
3. the co. makes a power thickner.
4. a lot has to do with the prep of the wood.

Do you have to use a heatbox for URAC?

Smooth-on.  Why use anything else?  Roll it on spread it on.  You can't loose with Smooth-on.  It even works as a filler when rubbed on and wiped off with a lint free towel.
