she is finally done! i shot it a little last night just before dark, and let me just say it was as good as i ever imagined! very smooth draw and no stack what-so-ever. i was gonna post some pics, but the camera battery is dead so that will have to come later. took it to the archery shop today, and the final draw weight was 56# at 28in. we shot it through the speedgun and it shot consistently around 190fps. which i thought was pretty fast.just want to give everyone that gave me there two cents a big thanks. especially kennym it would have been hard to build a bow without his lams! i'll add pics later. thanks all.

A subtle play on words is better than a poke in the eye.

Holy cow, 190fps is faster than any of my glass reflex/deflex bows.  Congrads.

tj69 gpp is that grains per pound? i don't know the arrow weight, sorry. the arrow i use are red head carbon supreme 350 cut 31in with 5in feathers and 125grain field points. not sure how many grains per inch the actual arrow is. the fastest speed was 193fps. the slowest was 177fps, but i only got it back about 26in before i let it go. a little to excited you might say! all the rest i got to full draw which is 28in. any how thanks for the comments. eric

What weight arrow are you shooting at 190fps?
Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!

i just read that these particular arrows are 10.2 gpi. being that they are 31 in long with a 125grain point. that would put the arrow weight at about 440 grains not including the feathers. this is assuming that 10.2 gpi is right, and also that my math is right. i am still a little sceptical about those numbers. the fps that is. i think i may go to another place tomorrow and try it again. just to make sure the chronograph was reading right. i hope it was   :bigsmyl:   i'll report my findings tomorrow.

Assuming that the complet arrow weight including the insert, feathers and some glue is about 470grain, so you have 8,39 grain per pound.
190fps with that weight is absolutely possible I think.
But thats not important , you´ve made a great bow, that is shooting straight
