As some of you may recall I made a longbow for my wife back in December. This was in part to learn abit before making my bow. I got a good start shortly after finishing hers how ever in the proccess of tillering the riser broke. Kenny M replaced it and I changed my design by putting the overlay on the back from limb to limb and also adding .040 glass over that in hopes I would not have that happen again. My plan was to make 2 sets of limbs for this bow. One set was to be 50- 52# and the second set 55-57#. Also I wanted a 64" bow max. Anyway the first set I was shooting for 55# and they turned out 50# and much wider than I wanted. I called Kenny to place my order for the heavier limbs. We debated on the changes that should be made for the 55# limbs. I should have listened to him as I had to trap the limbs to get them down to 57#. But that worked out fine anyway. Then I went back to the light limbs. I shortened them by 7/8" each and that brought them up to 56#. After narrowing to my taste they still pulled 52#. I like this better as these limbs will be my deer hunting/ treestand bow.

I just enjoy the project and working through the problems. You can't beat satisfaction from making and using these bows.

Fine job! We may be looking for speed from the arrow but it's our enemy when building.
