Nice bow and lab.  I had a black lab, excellent hunting dog but they don't photograph well.  I had trouble bringing out the detail of the all black dog.  Maybe a digital camera expert could help us.

Cool, did you stain the red elm or is that natural?  If so what stain did you use?  Chad

kennym

The elm is natural, I've had a couple of the light colored boards from time to time, won't even sell it .
My kiln guy just found me some more like this!!

Nice bow Kenny.  I sure hope you can put together a kit for me.

Yah, that's some nice Red Elm alright.

Do you glue your bows up with the same amount of fadeout on both sides of the handle area, then pick which side you want for the top after it is layed out?

Chad

kennym

Thanks again guys!!

Chad, they have the same fades on both ends, but the top limb is already chosen because of the canine in the riser. Been lucky so far to have around 1/8" positive tiller, been thinkin about trimming an inch off the thick end of the top taper to help on this.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
