First of all thanks to everyone who helped me through their input on this forum.  Kennym......thanks for your patience and always returning my PM's.

The bow went pretty good.  No major problems...one poor glue line but that's about it.  The bow is straight and shoots great.  I'm not in love with the strung profile, it's a little whip-ended and doesn't bend quite enough at the fades but I already know how to change my material to fix that.....I think.

For my first ever attempt it pretty satisfied.

Here are some pictures

First shot before spraying the bow.......bullseye.

Thanks again to all the experts on here that help us wannabe's build a bow.

Nice job. You did very well for a first bow and not a simple one at that. Thanks for posting and encouraging others to give it a try. You just can't beat the satisfaction from shooting a bow you made yourself.

That's a beauty!  Nothing wrong with that profile, but I see where I would make one change.  If you used about .001 less overall taper, I think she would be perfect.  Or better yet, just use some tip wedges about 12-14" long.

thanks for the kind words everyone.  I appreciate it.

Apex, your exactly right.  I have 3 different tapers (all .002) and 1 uniweft in each limb.  I thought about substituting one of the tapers for a parallel, doing perhaps a reverse taper or utilizing tip wedges.  Bottom line is I need to weaken the riser half of each limb and strengthen the tip half.

I ended up trapping the stiff half of the limbs significantly more than the tip section gradually decreasing the trapping as I approached the tips.  This helped a lot and looks kind of neat too but it's all I could think to do to really get the tiller to look right.  I'll know next time.

Thanks, Mike

That is one nice looking bow- it will be interesting to see how the next one stacks up against the first one-you know you can't make just one

Very nice for first bow bro....Tips look really really nice and the profiles look great.  Don't be so hard on yourself.  I'm sure you'll make more and you can perfect your thought to be flaws.

Good job!

Wow
It look very aggressive when drawing.

You sure that's not a black widow? All kidding aside, it looks like you did a heck of a job for your first bow.  Looks like a real shooter!

Sorry, I have been away for a while.

Cottonmouth:  Thanks for the kind words.....It is 60# @ 28"

Hera: It really shoots hard.  I was surprised.  I need to get the chrono out someday and put a FF string on it and see what she'll do.

Bodork:  You guessed it.  I had an old LAG that I liked the grip on but was sort of a dog.  So I jazzed up the R/D put a Black Widow LAG grip and riser on it and.......viola!

I need to make a few changes to it but it did turn out pretty good I shot it a little this weekend with a dacron string and it is the quietest bow I own by far.........but all the others have FF strings so that's not entirely fair.
