Not sure if this classifies as a bowie or not but it's one of the bigger knives I have made. Compared to some knives on here it is small! I usually use a small blade for everything but I had a perfect piece of elk antler for a big blade and this is the result. The blade is from 1095 and is 5 1/2" long. The knife is 10 1/4" overall. The spacers are bloodwood and walnut. I tried to make one of those pretty flowers to put on the end cap and it turned out more like a cross! I used this knife to clean a turkey last weekend in turkey camp and it worked surprisingly well cutting the breast out. It also handled all the other things I threw at it, onions, peppers, steak, sticks, bigger logs.... I was happy how it performed.

 

 

A month or so ago I bought a 1" belt sander from harbor freight and this is the first blade I used it on. Let me correct that, this is the 4th blade I have used it on. The first 3 blades I ruined getting the angle set correctly. Think I got it figured out now. The finest grit belt I had was  a 120, after finishing it I wish I would of taken it to a finer grit, guess I will just have to make another. I really like the looks of the hammer marks in the blade. I have a few more blades drawn out and I think they will have the same look, the just wont be as big.
