I just finished this 5 inch Bush craft style knife for my son. He keeps up with Cody Lundeen  (sp) and his equipment. I like the way it turned out.

That looks really nice, Lin. Is that canvas Micarta? Really like the domed pins, too. Bet it serves him well.

Boy oh boy...sometime the most simple looking knives have a way of directing your eye to well-executed details. This one does that for me, from the great flow/lines/symmetry/balance to pin placement/finish to the symmetry of the micarta layers as revealed in the finished handle. Very nice all around...should make your son as fine a bush knife as can be had!

Jeremy, it's linen Micarta.

Thanks Curt. I shaped each scale off the knife at first to get the layers close, then I fine tuned them for thickness and to match the lines while on the knife.

One thing to remember when using Micarta is to cut the scales from the big sheet parallel and side by side to one another. That way the layers are as close as can be to one another in appearance.

That's everything a knife could be. Awesome!

Really nice Lin. I love the combo of the forge finish, domed pins and micarta. Very cool knife.
