My buddy has a forge/blacksmiths shed from the old days on his farm and is getting it back into forging shape, one of the last things he needs is the coal for the forge, can someone point me in the right direction for anthracite coal (Sp?) the forge works with a hand crank if that matters.

I think ACE Hardware or one of the other national brands still sells it...but your local one would need to order it in.  Really no big deal.

I have been using the nut size coal from the Pocahontas seam in Virginia or W. Virginia (cant remember which). I don't have the contact info in front of me. You can find a couple of suppliers by doing a search. Different coal seams have different characteristics in that they have variations of sulfur, ash, etc. I recommend this after much search and weeding out of other coals.
