Japanese influenced utility/small hunter.  Forged from 3/16" thick 1095, flats are "as forged" bevels are belt finished.  Handle material is Black/White Ebony, with "bamboo" grooves for aid in gripping.

Overall length is 7", blade is 3-1/4".

DANA HOLMAN

Matt, that's a nice knife, your forging is great, do you use a press or hammer and anvil?

hi Dana,  this one was done all with the hand hammer/anvil.  Normally I use a combination of the power hammer/hand hammer.

DANA HOLMAN

I thing I need to go back to forging class, mine is nothing like that. Great job.

Amazing job. Love the handle and the look of the blade.

Dana if your ever this way stop by the shop.  Nothing really hard about forging close/clean, just takes a bit more time.

Very nice.  Japanese style blades aren't typically m style but I like this one.  Is it flat or hollow ground?  Looks like hollow in one of the pictures but could just be the angle.

Thanks fellas. The grind is flat, appears hollow as I left the flats full thickness... has no distal taper

Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!
