I just finished up this hawk tonight. This is the first full tang hawk I have done, and I am very pleased with how it came out.
I did a wip on it if you are interested in seeing the process... Full tang axes and hawk {WIP}
I have to give credit to Daniel Winkler for the bungee retention idea on the sheath, it is a simple but very functional way of locking the hawk in place.
The Steel is 4140, with an OAL of 11", a head length of 5 1/4", and a cutting edge that is 2 7/8" long.
Let me know what you guys think.

Very nice Ben.  What finish did you put on the head?  Also, let me know how the 4140 does on a hawk.  I have some of that but wasn't sure how it'd hold up on a cutting tool with that low of a carbon content.  If it performs well, I'd love to see your heat treat method.

Thanks Jeff! I think I have ADD sometimes, I get a design in my head and can't get it out until I make it. Kitchen, tactical, hunting, I like 'em all!

Thanks for the kind words guys, I think I might do one up with curly maple scales here soon!
