This one is made out of 1084 steel, edge quenched.  It's 9.25" OAL, with 4.5" of sharp.  The scales are walnut, with copper pins.  I'd love any critiques or criticisms before I finish it out.

looks good and would made a great bush crafter blade. a tung oil finish would look nice on that walnut.  and what kind of blade thickness did you end up with?  a stock reduction or forged blade?

Thanks JD.  This one is stock reduction from 3/16" stock.

I like the temper line and would second the tung oil idea. It'll really bring that walnut to life. Do you have enough thickness in the handle to sand out the splintered hole flush? If not, some wood filler sanded back to flush before the tung oil would be good.

I tried to get under the chip out, but unfortunately I couldn't get it completely gone without making the handle too thin.  To make it worse I tinted my epoxy so they show up even better.  Oh well, just one of those "live and learn" sort of deals.

Finally finished.  The sheath is deer rawhide over veggie tanned leather, with some buckskin and snakeskin added for fun.

Nice work. Only critique I could give is "It in wrong hand look better in mine"    :bigsmyl:
Thanks and keep promoting the great sport of bow hunting to our youth and friends.
