We had a meeting yesterday evening at Al's. I thought you might want to see the show and tell table.

Here's Jerry Fisk explaining something to the guys. That's Al behind the counter.

That looks like a very enjoyable time.
The best advice I ever heard from Jerry was,
"Give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, and he'll drink all your beer."
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Yes Karl, it's always enjoyable.

The knives on the table represent 4 mastersmiths, but the rest are new guy's work and one production knife. Believe it or not Karl, I will plan on showing the knife I got from you to the group in a couple months. They are interested in your take down system. Dont worry, I'll do you proud.   :)

The little knife the guy on the right is holding is a 1/4 inch boxed end wrench forged into a blade. His thumb and finger cover the boxed end. Mystery steel, but to each his own.   :campfire:

It's a good time that I wish I could attend more often. I have only been once.

When I first looked at this pic I tried to recognize the makers by the knives on the table. I got a couple right a couple wrong.

Looks like a great opportunity to see great knives and learn from the top Mastersmiths!

The comment I made about the mastersmith verses the new guys might sound uppity but I dont mean it that way. There was some Journeyman bladesmiths present but none brought a knife so it literally was just the MS and the new guys.

A couple of the new guys are really making some nice stuff. Jerry brought back three or four from Brazil a few days ago. They are on the table up near the end. The knife makers there showered him with gifts in the form of their work.

Next time I see Jerry's recurve, I'll sneak a photo of it. It's a beauty. The boys in Brazil are supposed to take him hunting next time he goes. That should be interesting.
