Fantastic Lin!  You always keep us well fed with a rich diet of great knives and good information!  Thank you and have a great time at the Blade show!

Wish I could be there.

Geesh, No words???  I do have a question though?  are there 5 pieces of steel in the finger guards or are you that good that you can get the outside edges and the inside edge of the center piece and front piece to weld a different pattern.

By the way - they need to come up with another designation because "master" is no longer good enough.

I think you are the "Over Lord"!

That thing came out unbelievable, Lin.  That MS stamp is well-deserved.  You truly are a master of the craft.

Thanks guys.

Bobby,
The front guard and rear sub-hilt are each one piece. There is a shallow groove ground into them parallelling the edge giving the appearance of a black spacer. The etchant darkened it.

The pattern change just unexpectedly turned out about right on the groove. I did take note of the way the metal moved and did not move in relation to the depth of my laddering notches since I was wanting a wavy pattern running up and down the fitting. That way I can attempt to reproduce it to some extent. I'm glad you noticed.

its ok ive seen better............ lol just joking thats a beautiful knife lin.  when you make a knife like that or any of your knives as far as that goes they are so perfect that most owners/users will never want to use them at all does this bother you?  i have a friend that has helped me alot in making my knives and he takes it as an insult that people wont use his knives. he says i made it to use. not to look at  if i would have known you would never have used it i would not have made it! hes kinda crazy i guess but i totally see where hes coming from. if i built somebody a super fast race car and they never wanted to drive it.  it would kinda make a person feel they made a worthy product?????

I have met a guy that uses a RSH. In fact he won a cutting competition with it. Many of Lin's knives see use. I am guessing there are TG members that use them.

In fact I have cut with his camp knife. Still hope to get one of my handles to feel as good.

The only thing I can think of is, "I wonder what the sheath looks like!"  Just spectacular, Lin.  Is it hard to profile the inside curves/profiles between the guard and sub-hilt (and those just behind) without accidentally taking off more handle material in the middle than metal?  That is, how do you remove equal amounts of both handle material and metal since they're not the same density?

Gosh, Lin, just when I think you can't build a better looking knife ...

Thanks guys.

Jerold, I make them to use. The customer might not want to use it and that's his business, but I wont make a knife that is not weapon/use grade. I talked to a customer last night who uses his damascus RSH in competitions, etc. The one Chris mentioned.
