Here is the first knife done with the Mammoth Ivory I found up in Sitka when visiting our daughter there at Christmas time. It'll also be in San Antonio with me next week at the ABS Knife Expo.

Laddered W pattern Damascus, 416 fittings and Fossil Mammoth.

Sweet little hunter, Doug.
Probably have about 30 pounds of ivory left?
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Zero room for improvement there! Thats a fine, fine tool.

Dang Doug, hope the whole tusk is that color. That is one purdy knife.      :notworthy:

That is a dandy!  Love the lines on that knife.  Not only beautiful, but very functional.

Thanks guys, really appreciate it, hope somebody down in TX likes it well enough to take it home with them...

Bout that Karl...

The tusk was pretty rough Robin but there is some good stuff there just gotta coax it out. Some interesting barkie stuff I may try when I get home from TX.

That is a gorgeous knife, Doug. They just keep getting better and better, which seems impossible!!! What are the dimensions of that beauty? It looks like you cut that tusk to slightly more usable proportions.    :)
