Ok you blacksmiths. Well I finally broke our old spud bar tearing put some concrete and was wondering if the head would make a good tomahawk? I can post pics if needed. Was also wondering if anyone would be interested in doing so. I've always wanted one and thought it would be kinda cool to turn a tool I hate into one I'd love to use. Let me know your thoughts please. Thanks in advance.

Dont know what you're calling a spud bar, but it might make a good one if it's in the right hands.

Spud bar/pry bar used to pry apart concrete once it's cracked up. The bar was about 5' long round steel and the head is tapered out and flattened to get into the cracks. I'll post a pic today. Thanks Lin.

Lin, The ones I have seen are like Matt said, round, about 3/4" dia, with a flattened out end. They must be hard as they can take a good bit of bending/spinging with out taking a set.
This thread looks to get pretty good. I will keep a watch,

I'm familiar with ironworker's spud wrenches and bars. The long bar you describe, to me, is a punch bar. But that dont matter. I've used a bunch of em. I think the steel would work, but one would have to know how to get the most out of it.
