I have been working on this knife for a few days playing aroubd with the materials and here is the results.

The blade is some of my damascus, the handle is Mammoth Ivory, and the fittings are Silicon Bronze and fine Silver. The blade is about 5 inches long, large for a hunter, but some like em larger.

Lin you make that damascus pop like no other my friend...
Question on the handle, is that your hidden tang with scales? with two pins ? Awesome job

I like a 5" blade, Lin. That's actually what I shoot for.
That knife is awesome. I really like how the bronze and the ivory compliment each other.
Looks like you sort of streeeeeeeeeeeeeeetched out two "rungs" of a laddered W - one in the middle and one right in front of the ricasso.

Karl, check your phone. I sent you a picture of the billet and the way I cut it. I guess you could call it an accordion cut.

The Mammoth is scales around a hidden tang with domed silver pins through bronze washers set flush with the ivory.

That unfolded and drawn out into the blade is in the above knife. Thanks Karl

What was the basic billet sans grooves?

That is a work of art . the materials you used all compliment each other . Amazing !!!

Lin Rhea

I think it's "W" pattern. Here is the basic end cut off the billet made into washers. Thanks guys

Very, very nice. When does this one ship to your customer? I am certain he will be very proud of his new work of art. Truly brilliant!!

The new owner bought it from the photo Chuck took. He lives in the area so he'll get it soon after the sheath gets done. I'll have it a few more days.

That is a wonderfully beautiful knife, Lin. I also typically like knives that are smaller than that one for most purposes, but I love the way it looks. I'm sure you could size it down a little -- right?    ;)
