What is the going price for a Peter Wright anvil these days?
Thanks, Gary

Probably $2.00+ a pound!  If in good condition.

Hey Gary:

It can really vary by condition of the anvil and area of the country. I have bought anvils from as low as $0.08 a pound and have seen rare and excellent condition anvils sell for $5-6 a pound. Out west I have seen the prices a little higher because generally speaking supply is lower than here in the northeast.
Steve is right on at $2 a pound being a good starting point as long as it is in relatively good shape. If you have a picture maybe we can help further. Good luck.

I needed a good anvil and bought a new cast steel one, but I am always watching for good anvils, just because.
I saw this one in a flower bed covered in paint and the owner volunteered to sell it for $125. I liked the pattern and bought it. I cleaned the paint off and found a nice 128 lb Hay Budden. This could easily be my primary anvil but it's lighter than my shop anvil so I use it when I need to transport and demonstrate. Be patient.

Thank you, guys.

I am trying to get my small shop ready for this winter's projects.

Lin,
I watched your demo with the Lil' Johnny forge.  I could not see what controls you had running from the propane tank. Do you need a regulator besides the valve supplied with the forge?

Yes, it's a very small regulator that comes with the LJ forge. It connects to the propane tank. The reguator actually controls the forge. The small blower is just a booster. The combination makes it a very efficient forge.

The helpfulness of people on this site continues to amaze me. It would be great to meet some of you sometime.

I have learned an awful lot just by reading the last years comments and questions. Can't wait to put it into practise and discover how much more I need to learn.

Thank you all very much!
Sincerely,
Gary
