Saw some pictures of some and had some laying around the house. Decide to try it for myself. Reprofiled the blade to a more hunter shape. Handle is Sambar Stag pinned with brass pins that are penned a little on the top. Butt cap is stabilized buckeye burl with a 1/4" piece of mosaic pin. Assembled with West System Marine epoxy. Blade is a offset because of the shear design. This could probably be fixed by heating it at the handle/blade joint and bending carefully. Not sure how well it will hold the edge but it sharpens up nice.

I was actually thinking that if you could heat the handle enough without messing up the blade you could hammer the tang area flat on one...thoughts?
I doubt it would hold up to the temps required for heat treating or anything...but it might.

Yep. Kind of like a partial hidden tang with the top of the tang exposed.
