First Forged Knife

Thank you to everyone who posts their work here. I have been soaking up all the information you share here for over a year. I learn something new every time I read through the posts. I have made a few stock reduction knives but have been wanting to make one in the forge.
Here is what I came up with:
     

This picture is the knife sitting on the spring it was made from. The picture was taken before hardening and tempering.

very cool! looks kind of thick in the edge though.  Kind of wedge shaped... which isn't as effective at cutting.  But I realize you were probably trying to preserve your hammer marks.  Which might be why you were inquiring about hollow grinding??

It's kind of thick in the edge because I don't know what I am doing yet  :p
After the second picture was taken, I filed the edge quite a bit thinner. I think it looks better without the bluing on the edge too.
Either way, this is a blast. Making knives is great. Thanks for the feed back. That is the kind of thing that will help me get better.
