this file was one of the first i bought when i started bow making over 10 years ago.  i'm guessing i've used this file to make over 75 bows and i hated to throw it away when it wasn't cutting like i wanted it to.  i asked steve nuckels if he would forge it out but leave some traces of the file to show some character.  i think he did an excellent job.  the grip is from a buck i killed when i was younger and i put an ivory cap on the end and attempted to scrimshaw an old english c to personalize it.  enjoy!

Chris, wow... that turned out very nice Bro!  It looks very classic!  Great schrimshaw work too!
Thanks for including me in the project, cool that you can see the temper line!

I was just thinking about that blade the other day.

If you want send the sharp finger back and I will harden/heat treat!

OOPS!  Forgot to mention that the sheath is interesting and the tooling is a nice detail.

I was at a local Mastersmiths shop today and he showed me the Moran method of making a bass wood lined sheath!  Cool!

thanks steve!  it's taken me this long to find the right grip material for this knife.  i didn't want to use just anything as this one is special.  next time i go to the post office, i'll get the other knife in the mail.  i've been thinking of doing some wood lined sheaths with raw hide stitched over it.
