Every time I make myself a knife someone wants that darn thing enough to pay for it.  Tough being a knife maker and never having one of your own.  Good luck keeping it in the family!  :biglaugh:

Sticshooter, that looks like an auto body shop rasp to me. I was told they are used for smoothing body putty; not sure of the veracity but that was what I was told.

Nice knife, I love your style! I thought I was the only guy that made knives and didn't have one for myself.   :biglaugh:

Frank, You just inspired me big time. I'm like you, I don't have a knife that I have made but I have been wanting to make a special one for myself for a long time.
It just so happens that my father was a body man(collision repair technician as they are called these days) and I have several of his old files hanging on my pegboard. They are just like that one. They were used to file body putty and maybe even lead. I can remember him spreading molten lead onto car panels and smoothing it before bondo came to the market.
Anyway, what a fitting tribute to my father it would be to make a knife(and keep it)out of one of his old files!! Not only would I be using one of his tools, but I know I use the talent I inhereted from him in everything I make.
Hope you don't mind a copycat.
Oh yea, that knife is AWESOME!!!  Mike
