just tried the japanese wrap on these knives.  i also used ray skin under the wrap to keep with tradition.  the wrap was not near as easy as i thought it would be.  the small knife on the left is a new design that i'm making for neck knife use.  enjoy!

here you go lin.  i'm getting better with the wrap with every knife so it might take a couple more to get it perfect.  definitely not easy on a small grip.  i know the turks head knot is not japanese, but i dislike not having sometype of guard on a knife like this.

thanks fellows!  the metal is cpm s30v steel.  

kentucky, i copied the tip from a 300 year old japanese dagger a friend of mine has.

the little knife is about 6" long and is mostly a small camp/palm knife for light work.

i'm liking the japanese wrap.  after the glue dries that i use the stiffen the cord, it almost feels like a neoprene type grip and gives a little for a great feeling grip.  i'm also not 100% on the sheath just yet.  i'll have to do a little more experimenting with it.

With a horizontal belt sheath that would make a sweet EDC!

BTW - I am likin' s30v steel.  It makes a good blade!

great job on the handle wrapping. i repair handle wraps on kitana swords and know how tough it can be to get a great end result while keeping the traditional technique. alot of people use paper wedges to keep the cording from twisting and just folding but i never liked having a bunch of paper in my wraps.also if you are unhappy with the turks head knot wrapping from blade to butt would allow you to use the exiting hole to end the wraps in a minimal knot. great work nonetheless, love em all, simple and effective design.

Real nice job on those wraps. Always wanted to try that.
