I'd like to have a hunting knife with a personal touch.  I just don't have time right now for another hobby to make one from an old file, though.  I've got a Kershaw skinner I thought about taking the scales off of and making my own, but it's Chinese made and I'd like to get a good ol' USA one.  Where could I find a good quality blank that I could build the scales and sheath for?

Thanks!  You're right, that's one heck of a selection.  Makes it tough to narrow things down.

I've also found some Camillus USA blanks on the big flea market site.  I've never owned one, are these quality blades?

It's the auction site that goes unmentioned here.  Just type Camillus USA in the search box and it should bring them up.

On the same site I found a store called Premium Knife Supply out of Hayesville, NC.  They claim to only using quality 440 steel most to a hardness of 57-58.  The prices are good, but I can't find where the blades are made.  The only ones that specify USA made are damascus blades that are over $100 each.  That's just way over my budget.

Thanks guys.  I found one I'm going to give a shot.  Probably be uglier than sin, but at least it'll be mine.
