I am tryin to follow the advice of our tradgang mentors(Tryin).learned cross hatchin is a good thing on metal and wood.Use sandpaper like it's free is excellent advice.
I have been rasping and fileing handles for about a year now after Karl mentioned it in one his posts.
I Do use a vise grip type hold down on the drillpress.
Slowin down is a problem. My ol Mamma tried to get that to happen all my life! I'm tryin though.
Another attempt. Ferriers rasp/Walnut scales/Homade mosiac pin/brass pins/rasp bolsters/Homemade sheath with prarie rattler insert(home tanned snake).
Filed the tang way down with shoulders ahead of the blade.
As always critic is welcome and appreciated. C-Yall Bob

Bob, I like the way you swapped sides of the rasp for the Bolster. That is a cool look and I may be forced to steal it when I start turning my rasp files ito knives.

I love that knife.

Did you use epoxy along with the pins to hold the bolsters on? What type of metal are the bolster pins made from?
