Hey all,

I'd like ask and see if you all wouldn't mind posting any pics you have of knives made from files.  I am trying to get some ideas....

Thanks

This was a family heirloom knife made from items found in the family's barn that the grandfather used during his time there.
I cut up one of the main beams in the ceiling and had it stabilized for the handle. Cut up an old splitting wedge for the guard and hot-blued it, and forged the blade from a big ol' file and hardened and tempered it.
It was going into a shadow box and getting mounted on the wall in the guy's office.

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

I get a kick at of this stuff, what probably most people would consider "junk" is turned into working art, recycling at it's finest.

Hard to see the file marks especially in this picture but they are there.
