For lack of a better name we'll call this one the "Shrew Bowie". I'm thinking of offering a big knife as a companion piece to the Shrew hawk. We've got another design in mind also that I'll have later on. This one has a 10" blade forged from a buggy spring, 14.5" OA. Moose horn slabs...A real hunk of a knife...

Very impressive! It would fit in any well equiped camp or be a great carry along. By the way, buggy springs are much sought after for blade steel. Lin

If you have that, you don't need a hawk!

Hey Ron,
I was working on something like that for the hawk and knife trails at Rondy.Too pretty to throw, but I'd get over it.

Measure twice, cut once, then beat it to fit

Ragnarok Forge

I would say that with the steel tang extending past the scales and overall antiqued / rustic look it would work great as a throwing knife.  That of course depends on the balance.

Ron,

Is that a convex or flat grind on the blade?  How far up the blade does the bevel come?
