Hi guys,

I have a "johnson gas appliance" #101.  It looks like a mini forge.  It is cast iron construction with a liftable top about 9" long and 5" wide 5" deep.  It has 2burners with 3/4" tubes. It was lined with some kind of ceramic blanket but only 1/2" thick.

Has anyone heard of such a thing? I will try and get some pics posted.

I want to reline it and see if I can use it for forgeing/heat treating.

If it doesnt work I am going to build my own gas forge anyway.

Do any of you know a common supply source for ceramic blanket insulation or is it a very specialized product that only a few companies carry?

Thanx in advance

Almost and type of company that sells refractory and furnace supply items has it or can get it.

Go to that auction site and type in
"ceramic blanket".

Thanx!
After some searching around I found a supplier in my town.
