This is my first knife. Its made of 01 steel.
Im pretty happy with the way it turned out. I made it with a hacksaw, files and rasps and sandpaper. It was alot of work but worth it.

I want to thank KHALVERSON from here. He heat treated the blade for me and wouldnt let me pay him. Thanks Kevin and thanks to everyone here who anserwed my questions and took the time to share stuff on this site.

This stuff is very addicting I have 3 more blades done and need to get a brick forge built so I can finish  :banghead:

Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.

That is a darn nice looking knife!  Looks like you are onto a great start.  Make sure you keep that one, don't let anyone talk you out of it.

Cool knife!!! Whats the handle material.

The handle is made out of dymond wood I got from Texas Knife supply. I found out that this stuff is dense and realy hard to shape with a file and I had to be careful that the edges wouldnt chip with a rasp.I thought I would never get it filed down.
I think a few power tools might be in the future or atleast a sanding drum on a drill press.

Thanks for all the comments.

I realy learned alot.
I want to encourage anyone that wants to try to make a knife with a limited few hand tools it can be done but its alot of work but very fun and very rewarding in the end.
There are alot of great people here with alot of knowledge and talent that you can learn alot from I know I have.
Thanks

Its got a great edge. I havent polished it down fine but its plenty sharp right now. The heattreat turned out great. The file had to be a good sharp one I found out quickly.
Cant waith to use it and test it out.
I plan on building one more like this only with a longer handle.
I also got one started simular to one of yours in the pictures you showed me out of 1/8" 01.
Thanks
