I made this anvil base today per instructions from "Anvil Fire"  22" high, made from 2 X 12s, partical board and 2 X 4s screws and glue.

Didn't take long to build and feels solid and stable.  I have to paint it and secure the anvil.

I hope it works well!!

I have almost finished getting other equipment togeather, I figure by the time the dogwoods are in flower I should be banging on hot steel, that is, when I'm not out turkey hunting!

I have some Old steel that was on an Old wagon tongue, would that be suitable for forging?

Looks good.  Just curious, is that hollow or is it filled with something for extra mass?

Steve, the base is hollow!  It weighs probably 25-30 Lbs.  Which I hope will work for me because I will be working outside, so I will be moving the anvil in and out of the garage until I can organize and make some space.
