Probably been covered on this forum many times but I cannot find any threads that talk about making a knife vise?  Could someone direct me to thread(s) talking about this. I have seen some really nice ones made from pieces of pipe and would like to make my own.  Any pictures of what you are useing would help a ton.  Like many of you, I am very visual so some good pics of your vise would be great.

Thank you for any advise, pics, help you can provide.

I use a panavise, do a search, they are inexpensive and work fine.  Dan

Panavise and a small Wilton vise.

Here's one I use for finishing out the blades and twekaing the handles.
I also use another one that I don't have photos of right now. Some folks call a "Moran" vise - a tube inside a tube.
All made from scrap.
This one has a bolt through the rear for rotation.
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Here is a work station for gluing and filing, etc.
I got tired of having a vise on a work bench and only being able to access 180 degrees of the work!!
This way I can work the knife from all directions.

That's a nice set up KBA... I may have to "borrow" that idea!
