After seeing the nessies on this site I thought ok do one! Had part of a plow disc from a friends generosity already annealed.The edge of that should work.
This is the blank that came out for Me. At the heat treat,temper stage.
Y-all tell Me Nessie's homlie little sis? Or what? C-Ya Bob
 
Ok got the scales on this one.
 
sushine and a digital camara tell Me how poor My polishing was.will clean it up today!!
completed sheath today.

Hey stic You ain't gonna offend Me I'm just clownin. it is kinda uluish.
to really make My nessie i will need to use a differnt part of the disc or at least a bigger part.
it feels really good in the hand. I believe it will work for a lot of things from choppin veggies to skinin deer to slicin roast beef.not heavy enuff to be a hatchet.  Thanks for the git back c-ya Bob

Hey Prarie,

Not sure what it's called, but it is unique.  The Japanese or Chinese one have a blade that looks very similar to that and about that size or a little bigger that's a favorite of chefs.  Don't remember what it's called, but it's a lot like that.  Saw a chef on the Iron Chef TV show using one.

Way to go.
