Has anybody ever forge welded a chainsaw chain and made a knife out of it?. And does it make a good blade? Thanks alot -Rod
Everything has a place and purpose, and when it gets out of place, it's loosing it's purpose. (my Grandpa )

Yup.  I get my chains from a saw shop.  They throw them out when they are too worn to be worth re-sharpening.  Lots of gunk in those old links so use a lot of flux to help float it out.  I tend to get little bad spots in a billet with chainsaw that I don't see with cable.
