Anyone know the story on Marbles knives, hatchets ect being made after market and being sold at about half the price of Marbles originals.  Bought a double bit hatchet at GLLI this past weekend for $36.00.  The guy selling them told me they were made in china and that is why they were so cheap.

That would suck, I bought a Marbel knife at Denton. Looked like the real thing. I know they go for over $100 and I got this one brand new for $60. I'd like to hear if this is true also. JOHN

It depends on what series you buy. The Classic Series are American made.

Do you remember the name of the seller.  The guy that was set up at the GLLI was selling knife sharpeners, knives and marbles stuff.  It wasn't until I asked him why the hatchets were so cheap did he tell me that they were China's finest.  Still bought as I plan on using it and using it hard.  The items  all came in Marbles boxes.  The real Marbles that he was selling was about twice as much as the imports.

What is interesting is that nowhere on the item or the box does it say, made in china.

Jeremy

Yeah, Marbles is having some items made in China now.  I've seen the "China" stamp on more than a few knives the past few years.  If they've stopped marking them that way I'd be extremely disappointed!
