COULD YOU GUYS GIVE ME A FEW IDEAS ON HOW TO
ATTACH A CHIPPED GLASS BLANK TO A DEER ANTLER
AND ADD LEATHER WRAPPING BY THE BLADE(not sure
what that is called)thanks in advance.

Ramsey

The knife blade is 6 inches long by 1 1/2
the antler is 6 inches also.

Well I did a couple but not sure if I did them right LOL. I would pick the antler handle I want cut a groove in it where I want the bpade to go put some epoxy in it and let dry. then wrap with leather .<><

I got the blade on the antler, looks pretty good
but the wrap looks kinda screwy.try and try again.Oh, do you happen to know if or how your
suppose to preserve the handle?

JEFF B

Yup sinew works and looks alot nicer. Sinew is also much easier to wrap with then leather. Here is a pic of one I did using sinew.

I reckon so

MYSTIKBOW

I stained the sinew using minwax early american stain. Just pull it through a rag with some stain on it, hang it up to dry for 10-15 min. then pull lightly through a clean to wipe off access.

I did use a leather wrap on a paleo style knapped blade but that was because the blade and handle are knapped all one piece. here is a pic.
I reckon so

Ramsey

The sinew looks pretty sweet.THis is what I
meant by leather looking screwy.
http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg308/skileejade/100_1882.jpg  and are my pictures showing up?

MYSTIKBOW

Yeah I see what ya mean about the leather. Kind of takes away from the beauty of that blade!

Your pic link is showing up.
I reckon so

Ramsey

were do you get that sinew from?Does it have to
be shiny?I still wonder about handle preservation.  :banghead:

Check with Three Rivers (a sponsor here), as they have a good selection of both real and artificial sinew.  Polyeurethane is always a good protectant, though it will turn somewhat amber in time.  Wax has been used for centuries to protect things from the elements, but it requires some maintianence.  Now let's see some pictures.  I want pictures!

THE RIGHT LOOK, THIS IS JUST FOR DISPLAY
ONLY FOR A LADY THAT OWNS THE ARCHERY SHOP

MYSTIKBOW

Billy, I like the way you have it wraped that way much better. That will make a nice desplay.
