Glued this one up today.  I just masked it off to do my finish sanding.  I am trying to decide what type of finish to put on it.

I saw something similar in an add somewhere- can't remember.  Might have actually been on this sight.  when I got the blade in hand I decided not to try to match the scales to the file work.  I came up in between them and that is how it evolved.  My wife has already spoken for the knife.  I guess I will have to make me another one!

Oops!!, skullworks, perhaps I meant that I want to "Steel" it later. I'm not shy and not afraid to "Borrow" a great design when I see one.

Thanks.  the blade is from Wood River.  I didn't get to mess with it tonight.  Had to hit the gym on the way home and filed my taxes after that.  Hopefully I will get to it tomorrow.  I have 2 buffalo skinners on the bench ready to build scales for as well.  After thatI have a nice damascus blade from wood river thati am going to build for myself.

Finally got a chanceto finish the knife.   I used a Minwax Paste as the finsh.  I think it looks great.  I am thinking about making the sheath an in pocket sheath with amagnet and a small piece of metal for the retainer on the flaps.

Great job on the knife!!Is "wood river" a supplier or a Tradgang member?Larry

Jeff Fortner

Caveman, I picked the blade up at a local store.  They make some really nice blades.

I finished the sheath for this one.  It is an inside the pocket sheath.  The outer flap holds onto the top of the pocket to keep the knife and sheath in place.  It works pretty good as is- without any clip or magnets.

Very nice sheath, looks like a neat idea!Almost like an Inside the waistband gun holster.....
