UB- that was a 'tongue in cheek' suggestion- I know you well enough to know you don't care!

Last time we were with each other I heard you describe an animal as 'medium, medium rare' I knew what kind of fella I was dealing with!!!!!

Very funny with the ibuprofen comment, I just took mine and I don't have any deer to drag.
Congrats.

You know guys, Barry sends me a daily report on what he's seen, what's happening, new stands, etc. I alwyas give him a bad time about passing up 150" bucks. He does that ALOT. But it seems he always comes home with one he's tickled with.
There's a lesson there about perserverance and sticking with your goals for all of us.

I'm proud to say he's one of my bestest buds of all time.

.
And that statement right there is why these brothers get to pose with deer like that...

All the "if only" in the world doesn't change that one sentence..."taken a lot of sacrifice in more ways than one..."

And that also is why I'll never, except for totally outhouse luck, ever, ever see let alone shoot such a deer or anything even close.

Cudos to you for the endless learning, years of hard work...and SACRIFICE to make such encounters reality!

Thank you for sharing, Unk!  :)
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

Calvin Coolidge

Got that one memorized...

And, although I'm never met Barry, he seems to be one heck of a nice guy.

A sincere and hearty congratulations!
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

Fantastic buck UB.  Too bad you couldn't get Vargo to help you out.  I hear he's been working out....  Hope to run into you guys next year hunting with John.  Have a great late season.  Jeff

What a great story! Thanks for sharing us with us. It takes a heck of a will to pass on those 4 1/2 year old deer, but look at the reward. What a beast of a deer!!!

Congratulations on a fine buck. I am with you 100 percent on the "score" issue. An eight like the one you took is rare indeed, though. Nice job and thanks for the story.
