Killed him on the first evening.Got a tip from a ranch hand he had seen 2 very good bulls in this area.Me and 2 other hunters went there to see what's up.Bob Thompson (Mr Zipper)split off to check some timber on a rim.Dave and I continued down the trail till we ran into some good elk sign and a well used wallow.I gave Dave the option to stand on it or proceed w/ me.I left Dave and went to the tank the RH had seen the bulls. As I approached the tank I could hear a bull bugleing on the rim above the tank.I got everything in my favor and setup to work on him.He bugled and I bugled back w/ sparactic results. After about 15mins.or so W/ no advancement from the bull.I decided to get more aggressive w/ my calling.I tried to my best ability to so like a bull chasing cows that where very vocal.Soon after my attempts anouther bull interupts. As I intensify my calling .The second bull is rapidly closing the distance w/ the first bull in a total growling, grunting, and bugleing rage.I then found a large pine branch and started bashing and raking trees.W/in mins. the second bull had closed the distance to under 100 yrds. The sound of him challenging by raking a tree gave me an opening to close the distance.I sprinted towards him till he stopped battleing the tree.Seconds later he appeared.Off the rim he came and w/ a purpose. At 50yrs he bugled.I quickly estamated his line of travel and setup 4 the opening I wanted to shoot him in.As he neared the spot I could see he was exactly what I've been hunting elk for past 6yrs.At 30yrds he crossed the opening and was introduced to my 560gr 2blade Ace broadhead.People I couldn't have walked up and placed that arro any better. As that pink fletch buried into his side he dug his front legs in w/ such force I saw the arro go limp from breaking.I ran behind him to see at his 3rd bound the fletched end of my shaft ejected out of him.2 more bounds and that Ace broadhead that severed his lungs had overcome his ability to go on.I lifted my binos to see the stream of blood coming from his nosstils and within seconds he was down.

For hunting to have a future, we must invest ourselves in future hunters.

Yes, one more vote ... please tell us about it. Public land? Guided or not? All the stuff real hunters want to know. Thanks, dave

i was told by a sales person, when purchasing an out-of-date newpaper that it was out-of-date...

i told her "i've been told i'm out-of-date, too"...

does that mean i'm up-to-date?
