Great morning in the woods.  All started at 7:30am, with a young eight point on a knoll.  I noticed that he was watching something and thats when I spotted this guy in lock down with a doe.  Well he didn't care for this little guys company and got all bowed up, then proceeded to put himself between this young fella and his doe. Thats when every one decided to bed down at about 70yds so now the wait begins. A quick phone call to let my friend know not to come looking for me I might be here all day depending on what happens. Probably should have packed more than just a Pop Tart, Oh well. I know this doe will get up sooner or later , with a little luck maybe come my way. Finally at 9:30 the doe stands and starts to meander a little then beds again at about 125yds    :( .  10:30 does is up again and moving in my general direction   :) .  She finally ends up behind my stand about 5-7yds browsing and the buck is about 5yds in front quartering in, tension is mounting!!!  I'm thinking this is gonna fall apart soon if one of them looks up or the wind gusts.  Well finally at 11:05 he presents a shot at about 4yds.  125grain Stinger lungs & heart he ran about 60yds before crashing. Weighed 142lbs dressed. Thanks for lookin Joe

Nicely done!  Looks like a really good buck!  And you are still out there hunting hard.  You deserve him!

My wife just pointed out that I have a pic of this buck from scouting. The crooked brow tine on the left gives it away.  he broke his right side main beam and G-3.

Nice job, Joe!
It looks a little warmer down your end of the state than it was here today...A high of 27 I think. lol.
Nice looking bow too. I don't think I've ever seen one like that. What is it?

Great deer and good story.  Tough to keep a handle on that hot pot when they are that close!

And then close the deal!!!
