I've been trying for a few years now to take a coyote with trsd gear.

Well, this year it all came together.  I called and almost instantly, I was surrounded (more or less) by 4 coyotes.  I picked the biggest and sent off one "cedar express".

Man I'll tell ya....those dawgs are tough critters.....it was a perfect shot and I'm guessing he went 100 yards.  Farther than a whitetail or black bear would run imo.

Took it with a martin hatfield , cedar arrow, and zwickey broadhead.

very nice. not many can say they took a yote with a bow, let alone traditional. It looks like you guys are having a mild winter too. Where in Canada are you?

THanks folks.....I was very pleased.  I took him on the ground.

I was driving up an old logging road, on my way to check a bear site, when I hit a long straight strecth and saw a yote cross the road. Maybe 200 yards away.

I stopped the truck, grabbed my "scream'n demon" rabbit in distress call, sat next to a big tree and let rip. Like I say, instantly, 4 dogs ran into site. The one I arrowed was actually sitting, looking away from me when I let fly.

Hope to do it again before the winters out !

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm in Nova Scotia (on the east coast) and yes, almost no snow at all this year.

awesome job!!!!!!! i had planned on trying for yotes tommorow morning with longbow but we have extremly high winds right now. it is mating season here so i will be using a couple custom howlers and maybe pup in distress howler. what are you going to do with the hide? you can have knife handles made out of both the jaw bones and leg bones. congrats!!!

it'a an open reed mouth call.  The best I've ever used !  I may invest in an E caller...but the mouth call  just really appeal to me.

While I'm at it....I'm open to any tips folks !  I've really only ever called in a few of these critters......

i use moth calls only, much more control than e-callers. during feb and march i switch to howlers alot. there are some really talanted call makers out there and a good custom call is awesome as well as not to expensive. it is a blast calling yotes but it is extreamly tuff trying to nail one with bow, you should be proud!!!
