Heys guys, anyone have any experience mounting a small video camera on a bow?

Fixin to do that joey...been threatening for years....gonna do it.

Joey...I'm thinking about strapping my cam to the lower riser via a strap like the great northern quiver with some type of bracket and I believe great northern sells something that might work....just need time to check it out.

Save your money Joe! The image will be fine until you shoot then it looks like you in San Fransisco during a earthquake. Just get you a good camera arm for the tree or a if your in a blind a tri-pod with a fluid head.

12 ring...its kinda hard stalking hogs and hauling a tree around   :D  

Putting my bow cam together today.....not too worried about the shot being shakey either...don't really care if it is, it will beat dragging that tree around or a tripod.

terry, if you go to ;www.bowhuntingvideos.net these boys ( gary and mike ) use a camera straped to the bow limb as you were talking about, it works pretty good ,except when they shoot, if you can,t get some of there videos i have some i can lend you .

SD card camcorders are really small and lightweight these dayze.  Been thinking about attaching my small Panasonic to a hat/headband ... the cc will point where ya look ... push a button and it's recording SILENTLY ... gotta work on that a bit and give it a test go.

Bought this little gem last week. I can get over an hour of video on a 2GB card and it has a 2.7" flip out screen. Does 5MP stills also. I saw one simular to this that had a remote lens that attached to the camera. Guy said it is big with the motorcycle guys.

Hey lads, if you buy John Teitzel's latest "Boars and Barramundi 3" DVD, you'll see how his compound bow-mounted video camera goes. It is interesting, but as already mentioned, it does jar the camera quite a bit, and the image is shaky. You still get to see the arrow streak into the pig, but the footage is affected a little. I'm sure John would've done lots of experimenting with his recurve, as that's his preference. Of course, there's still heaps of good recurve action on huge boars, and you get to see a boar have a go at one hunter, as well as a close-up encounter of a massive salty out in the bush well away from the water. I'm not sure if this DVD is in the shops in Australia yet, but I got mine by calling John (the fellow who makes Tusker broadheads).

I may be the Guinea Pig on the HuntCam (above)..I have an elk hunt coming up and I'll be hunting solo so this may fit the bill. It just seems like a neat product. Strap camera lens on hat, run cord down your shirt into camcorder that's in your fanny pack.....

I've been looking at those also.I bought the dvd getting stickbow close they showed some footage using one also it wasn't bad but was a little shacky..
I'm still deciding on one?

Ok WW..you be the test!!!!!!!! ...I have made contraptions before to mount on my bow...an none work to keep a steady pic.They just can't deal with that "Thump"..so my interest in this on is to mount on my hat...I shoot pretty much a "straight" head. I do NOT lean over heavyly into the shot. I'm more field style so I think the pic would look decent...just concerned about the actual quality of the lense?

The quality is what I've been thinking about..
 I have a gorilla camera arm I'm going to use.. I hate to add more weight to pack hunting...I'm going to test it out bowfishing soon..
