This past weekend in South Texas. Hunted with John Hurt, Tom "TP" Parsons, and John Tribett.

I shot my javalina with a 60", 58# @ 29" Thunder Stick MOAB with 620 grains of CX Heritage and Simmons Tiger Shark BH.

"TP", of course, shot his huge rattlesnake with a Kimsha Mattawoman II he builds and John Hurt shot his snake with a BW PLX.

My first successful medieval-style hunt.  I was wearing a mostly hand-sewn, 14th C. style outfit, and I used a 60# English longbow with self-nocked arrows (made by Trad Gang's Ragi) that were tipped with hand-forged broadheads.

First Turkey of the year for me. Took this Tom with my Longriver "Elk" longbow, cedar arrow and Magnus 135 head. 5 yds from pop up blind in KS hunting with Ralph Renfro (KSBow). 21 lbs, 1 1/8" spurs and 10 1/2" beard.
It was about 10 degrees when the sun came up that morning. Took the tom about 0800. Had insulated udrwr, fleece shirt, fleece coat and fleece lined 10X jacket w/bibs.

Nice turkey Mike!!! So are you saying it was cold? Not your typical turkey weather eh? At least the ticks aren't out.

Here's a pic of my Lil Bro Dan and his first 07 Spring Tom. The bird weighed 23 1/2 lbs, had one spur an inch and 5/8th and the other 1 1/4", and a 10 inch beard. The bird is hanging by the "Hook" ala Guru. The bow was an Osage longbow made at Okie Camp at MoJam in 04. The arrows were rivercane tipped with Magnus Snuffer.   [/IMG]

Opening morning of turkey season this morning. I hat e to admit it; but I got set up a bit late this morning. Was able to call in a few hens, no gobblers.

Had a great time and found this deer way back in the woods.

Not shot or broken up(by a car). He was almost a mile from the road.  Go figure.  I will hunt again this coming Sunday.

Chris,

Nice bird, did you get him with your ACS? How long was his beard? How about a story too.
