Ontario Longbow

We have no fall turkey season, but it's still nice to see deer and turkeys together.  [/IMG]

I don't choose the deer, the deer chooses me.

Boy do I love going through this thread.

Finally connected on a doe last night.

Here's where she was at the shot.

I'm disgusted that I don't have my bow in the picture. Left it at the house. It was a Chastain Wapiti recurve- 55#  @ 60. Tapered cedar arrow with a Grizzly.

Here is the same bog about 15 minutes later.  It's kind of a neat place, by my GPS I was 4/10ths of a mile from my truck.  I knew I was at the edge of a Wildlife Management Area that bordered private property, I found out how private when I ran into a line of posted signs shortly after I took this picture.

Here Eric Zuniga and I enter the woods behind my house for an evening foray for piggies. E

This is the position I took up for the evening. It is dove season right now and the hunters on properties around me were waging war on the birds. The noise kept every other animal away. It was still a nice set for the sunset. CK

kojac

well I'm going to try this picture posting thing.

I've been inviting these guys over here to hunt wht-tails for the last 10yrs.   Deer numbers are down this year but my buddies 17yr old kid did manage to take his biggest todate.  This is the kids fifth deer with a recurve not to mention the turkeys and yotes.

If your like me and feel not all trophies have to be eatable, then here is my opening day trophy. Looking at the pic it seems this yote is alittle on the thin side. However, in real life it was very healthy (fat) and had a thick pelt. All in all, I'm happy as can be. Didn't weigh it but, guessing I'd say it was average. Around 25#.

Congrats Troy, yotes are hard to tag with a bow. Did you call him or nail him goin by? I love it when you call them in and they realize they screwed up. Only critter I know that can say OH SH*T with their exprestion.  :D

Robin,

I had set up for deer. That dog just happened by. It was a female that desided to empty her bladder as she walked right into my shooting area. Needless to say when she squated I drew. During the draw she looked up and as you said, the "Oh $#!#" look held here there just long enough. Arrow took out the driver and passenger side air bags. Still she managed to cover close to 150 yards before giving up the ghost.
