I received the following email from my local archery club this morning. Ron was a long distance member for quite a while now but our clubhouse is littered with photos of him smiling behind BIG animals. He was a great hunter and bowyer and a good guy all around. I will miss visiting with him and talking about old times at the various functions where we would bump into each other. Prayers for the family.

Life member Ron Pittsley has passed away unexpectedly. Ron returned home to his heavenly father Sunday evening while in the hospital with family by his side. Ron was hospitalized after suffering an aneurysm and cardiac arrest in the days prior. The Pittsley family requested I wait until today to inform our membership, giving the family time and space to privately mourn. As last we were told services will be held for family only.

If you did not know Ron you may recognize his name as the bowyer behind the Hunter's Niche line of traditional bows called Predator. Ron had a huge love for both archery and our club. I will always remember his smiles and joking nature.

Ron's full obituary will be included in this months edition of The Bowmen.

SPECIAL REQUEST:

Recently the Pittsley's had a garage fire. Destroyed in the fire was many family photos of him and his sons at the club, on hunts and other adventures. They have requested you check through any old photo albums you may have from years past and lend them to me. I will make copies and pass them along. I then will return your originals.

Please email digital photos to me at: info@landolakesbowmen.com

or you can mail them:

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Ron Pittsley was a great man in many ways.

Those close to him are experiencing a great loss.
He was one of those who did the right thing even when nobody was watching...even when nobody would notice.

I pray for peace and strength for those who will always feel his absence.

The bigger the man, the bigger the loss...and this is a big loss.

Such horrible news. Ron was such a great man, I will forever treasure our conversations. The traditional community has lost another great ambassador. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to the family.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time given to us.

He had become such a great friend. This is a tragic loss of a man that was way to young. Prayers to all of the family

Very sad , I had a booth next to him for a couple of years at Denton Hills. We had a lot of conversation during the slow times, he hunted ND so we had something in common. He was fun to visit with I'm very sorry he is gone .
