Hello Guys,
Last night my dad was getting out of his tree stand went to grab a limb to hold on to and it broke and fell 25 feet. There was a tree step for him to grab but for some reason he grabbed the limb. He is in the ICU with 2 collapsed lungs, broken ribs, chipped vertebra's and a bad shoulder injury. He is luck to be alive and we hope the MRI's don't show anymore major damage. Please pray for him his name is Steve Taulbee.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

Sigh...and it starts...  :(

My deepest sympathy for your dad. We live all year for the peace adn tranquility of the woods and our love of hunting and then something like this...   "[dntthnk]"

That split second when we're tired, cold, hungry or just so at peace we relax too much for that split second...
Prayers that all will heal and your Dad will remember this as a bad dream of last year.

Lord in your mercy...

i'm sorry to hear about your dad, and will be praying for him. accidents happen so quick, 7 years ago i killed a buck, went in the next day to get my stand, lowered it to the ground, threw a couple of things down, while standing on the same limb i had stood on 20 times, snap and down i went. i pray there will be no more injuries, especially internal, and GODS hand will be on him. this should be a wake-up call to us all, it can happen to anyone of us.
